Kuwaiti nationals in Bahrain are Bahrainis as per HM King's directives, says Minister

Manama, Mar. 27 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has stressed that Bahrain’s participation in the implementation of the repatriation plan of the Kuwaiti nationals abroad is a national duty and a natural stance reflecting the deep-rooted solid fraternal bilateral relations that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is constantly keen to develop.


In an interview with the Kuwaiti Al Rai TV, the minister said that as per the directives of HM King Hamad, Kuwaitis in Bahrain are Bahrainis, and that GCC nationals are his citizens under various circumstances.


Al-Romaihi pointed out that the current exceptional situation has strengthened cohesion and solidarity among the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries so as to be able to confront the global pandemic –Coronavirus (COVID-19).


The minister added that the return of Kuwaiti citizens from Bahrain to their country and their happiness reflect the solid fraternal relations between the two countries.


Al-Romaihi said that the repatriation was carried out in cooperation with the competent authorities, and the close follow-up of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain, Shaikh Thamer Al-Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.


In this regard, presenter of the “Min Alakhar” programme, Dr. Barakat Al Wegyan, said that the outstanding twinning between Kuwait and Bahrain, leadership, government and people, is a model to be emulated, praising HM King Hamad’s directives to participate in the plan to ensure the return of Kuwaiti nationals home.


Dr. Al Wegyan said that the brotherly gesture is not strange to Bahrain, adding that Bahrain and Kuwait are one country with one people and a common destiny.


He prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect HM the King, and to bless Bahrain with ever-lasting security and stability, under its leadership.
