Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak declines position of PM

Kuwait, Nov. 18 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has declined, the position of Prime Minister after an Amiri order was issued, tasking him with choosing members of the cabinet.


An Amiri order assigned Monday HH Shaikh Jaber as Prime Minister and tasked with nominating members of the cabinet and providing a list of names to HH Shaikh Sabah for approval.


In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Shaikh Jaber expressed gratitude to HH the Amir Shaikh Sabah for his trust in him, saying that it was an honor to serve the country and people.


Shaikh Jaber said that he felt sorrow over not being able to implement the order due to fear that he could not attend to his duties adequately.


He also expressed sorrow about rumors being spread over traditional and social media, stressing that the campaign of misinformation was far from the truth.


Shaikh Jaber affirmed that he was laying his trust in the Kuwaiti legal system, which will bring justice to the forefront.
