Manama, Nov.19 (BNA): A unified framework for counseling services and family awareness-enhancing has been announced today in Bahrain.
The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) unveiled details of the blueprint under the theme “Strengthening family cohesion as a gateway to community stability”.
The roadmap was announced during a meeting held at the SCW headquarters in Riffa in the presence of Government officials, private sector personalities, civil society organizations and media figures.
The scheme, which features twenty programmes and initiatives, will be implemented on November 20 in cooperation with the public and private sector partners.
It aims to develop services and promote concepts that support family cohesion and stability.
The SCW initiative was unveiled amid the UN Women Campaign, held annually under the theme “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”, kicking off on the 25th of November to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December.
SCW Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari said that the initiative falls under the topic “family stability”, which represents a core component of the National Women Development Plan.
It stems from a vision aimed at protecting social security, preserving Bahraini families’ rights, ensuring them access to all legal and social services and reducing the rates of family disputes as part of efforts to foster family cohesion and support Bahraini women’s role.
