Manama, Mar. 8 (BNA): Deputy Premier and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, chaired a meeting dedicated to reviewing the efforts of the Ministry of Education during the preventive suspension and the measures taken by the ministry.
Education Minister briefed the council on the steps taken by the ministry to deal with the extraordinary situation, including the services currently available on the ministry's educational portal.
He also referred to the actions accomplished by the teams of various sectors of the ministry in terms of the curriculum and the intensification of work related to the design and download of enrichment courses on the portal.
The Council reviewed the precautions taken by the ministry to protect students and employees by circulating preventive and health guidelines, cleaning and sterilizing schools before the return of the educational and administrative staff, allocating a hotline to communicate with the public and the options available to deal with the academic situation, including curricula, assessment and challenges.
The Council also reviewed the measures taken by the higher education sector to ensure the progress of studies during the exceptional times.
HH Shaikh Mohammed directed to form working a task force comprised of all relevant authorities to study the needs and requirements for education at this particular stage as well as the services provided, and then report thereon to the council at its next meeting.
