Cairo, Mar. 29 (BNA): The Arab Parliament has condemned in the strongest terms, the Houthi militia's launch of two ballistic missiles at the cities of Riyadh and Jazan in Saudi Arabia.

"This cowardly aggressive act of launching ballistic missiles at civilians and cities is a flagrant violation of international laws, covenants and norms, UN resolutions and international treaties humanitarian law," Arab Parliament Speaker Mishaal bin Fahm Al Salami said.

"Such an act represents a clear challenge to the international community and a threat to regional and international security and peace."

It also demonstrates once more the falsehood of the Houthi militia's declaration that it accepted the ceasefire, he added.

"The attacks show that the Houthi militia is not serious about confidence-building measures to reach a political solution to the crisis in Yemen and that it is subordinate to the Iranian regime that spreads chaos and undermines security and stability in the region."

Al Salami called in written missives to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations for prompt and urgent action to compel the Houthi militia to stop its cowardly acts of aggression.

The Speaker also called on them to hold the Iranian regime fully responsible for its flagrant violation of Security Council resolutions and its continued provision of the Houthi militia with smart weapons and ballistic missiles to destabilize security in the region and perpetuate chaos in the Republic of Yemen.

The Speaker declared the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all the measures it takes to maintain its security and stability as well as and regional and international security.
