Political Affairs Undersecretary meets Canadian Parliamentary Secretary to Foreign Minister

Ottawa, Sept. 17 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Robert Oliphant, on the sidelines of the second round of political consultations between the two countries here.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary affirmed Bahrain’s aim to enhance bilateral cooperation with Canada, in line with its commitment to peace and coexistence, coordinating regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism and drying up their funding sources. On the economic side, discussions focused on developing economic, investment and scientific cooperation in line with the Economic Vision 2030.

He also noted the importance of exchanging parliamentary and legislative experiences and achieving sustainable development.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed his country's interest in strengthening partnership in a way that achieves vital common interests of both countries, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
