Information Minister expresses pride in Bahrain's press, media experience

Manama, May 6 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has affirmed the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the press and media out of their interest in consolidating the press and media freedom.

 

In a statement marking the Bahrain Press Day, which is observed every May 7, Al-Romiahi, extended deepest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to HM the King for consolidating the press and media freedom, based on the royal interest in the freedom of expression, which is guaranteed by the Constitution.

 

The minister also extended thanks and appreciation to the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for putting in place all requirements for the press and media institutions in the kingdom to exercise their national role freely, praising HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s interest in confirming the role of the press and media in increasing the accomplishments of the kingdom’s development and democratic process.

 

Al-Romaihi said that this year’s Bahrain Press Day is celebrated in the midst of the kingdom’s ongoing recovery from the repercussions of the novel Coronavirus pandemic at all levels thanks to the successful efforts of Team Bahrain, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, noting that the occasion is an opportunity to recall the patriotic and honourable role played by Bahrain’s press and media institutions within the frontlines of the fight against the pandemic.

 

The Information Minister expressed deep pride in the rich history of journalism in the kingdom and its keenness to play a constructive role in the nation-building process, noting that it is still contributing to various development fields in the kingdom and defending the gains of the nation and its people, as well as taking advantage of the ongoing digital revolution to continue playing its noble role with accuracy, professionalism, impartiality and responsibility.

 

Concluding his statement, the minister extended sincere congratulations to the press and media community in the kingdom on the occasion, praising their role in enriching Bahrain’s press and media experience, as well as contributing to its development march.

 

He wished Bahrain more progress and prosperity, under HM the King’s leadership.
