Manama, Aug. 16 (BNA): The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) has inaugurated the “Chess Champions” Academy, under the patronage of Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Ameen.
The academy aims to prepare a generation of chess professionals from the RHF’s affiliates.
Commenting, Dr. Al-Sayed indicated that based on His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives and those of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the RHF is keen to harness its potential and capabilities to serve its sponsored families, as well as hone the skills of its affiliates and pave the way for them to participate in various international gatherings and sports events.
He added that the RHF believes in the importance of providing a fertile environment for all family members to acquire skills, refine their talent and develop their personalities.
He expressed the RHF’s pride in its youth competencies who are capable of reaching the highest posts and achieving distinguished results, noting that chess is among the most important mental games that contribute to developing the mind and building personality.
