Cairo, Sept. 18 (BNA): The 52nd session of the Arab Information Ministers' Council will convene at the premises of the Arab League here, under the chairmanship of Egypt.
Information minister, and officials of observer media organisations and unions affiliated with the Arab League will take part in the meeting, set to take place on September 20-22.
In a statement issued today, the Arab League Secretariat-General said that the three-day meetings include holding the 15th regular meeting of the executive office and the 97th regular meeting of the permanent committee of Arab media.
The 52nd session will discuss a number of important topics, including the Palestinian issue, the Arab Media Strategy (2022-2026), the plan for media action abroad, the Arab media's role in countering the phenomena of extremism and terrorism, the Arab media map for sustainable development 2030 and introducing educational media in the school curricular of member states., and other vital issues.
The statement added that the Council of Arab Information Ministers will also discuss a number of organisational and structural issues, the intensive activities of the Arab League missions and centres in cooperation with the Arab ambassadors' councils in the host countries.
The session will also review the reports of media organisations and unions, as well as the "Arab Media Capital" event, the statement also said.
The Secretariat-General also noted that joint initiatives to develop the Arab media will also be tabled during the 52nd session of the Arab Information Ministers' Council, as it will discuss launching a unified Arab strategy to deal with mega media companies, establishing an integrated observatory and platform, preparing the website of the Arab Electronic Media Committee, as well as setting the bylaw for the Arab Media Excellence Award.
