Malé, May 18 (BNA): Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah met Maldive’s Vice President Faisal Naseem.
This came on the sidelines of the meeting hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology in the Maldives titled “Launching of the Glasgow - Sharm El Shaikh Program for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA).”
The meeting discussed bilateral relations in the environmental field and ways to enhance cooperation between the Supreme Council for the Environment, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in the Maldives.
The meeting reviewed the features of the global goal of adapting to climate change as one of the outcomes of the Glasgow Conference, and one of the reports that will be discussed at the Climate Conference in Sharm El Shaikh COP27.
The special envoy stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and exchanging information and experiences in the field of environment and climate change, in terms of strengthening partnership with the island.
The vice president praised the efforts of the Kingdom and its participation in important meetings that touched upon environmental improvements, climate change, and sustainable development.
