Manama, Sept. 20 (BNA): The National Audit Office (NAO) Deputy Auditor General Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa participated in the 23rd meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the GCC.
The meeting which was held virtually, discussed the draft strategic training plan for the next three years (2023-2025), which was prepared by the NAO of Bahrain, as well as the training plan for the year 2023.
Participants were briefed on the results of the fifth competition of the GCC for Research and Studies in the field of auditing and accounting, the final drafts of the updated joint manuals on "Auditing Oil and Gas entities", "Pre-monitoring" and "Auditing Zakat and tax Revenues" and the preparations for the draft agenda of the 19th meeting of the Heads of SAIs of the GCC to be held on October 24 in Jeddah.
The draft training plan for 2023 includes 5 programs: "Indicators for Measuring the Performance of Internal Audit Units", "Audit of the Health Sector", "Developments in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)", "Present-day Auditing in the Age of Technology" and "Performance Assessment of Strategic Plans".
The fifth GCC for Research and Studies competition in the field of auditing and accounting included 3 topics: "Automation of audit work and its role in developing performance", which was won by Somaia Saleh Almeer and Maryam Ebrahim Taleb from the NAO of Bahrain, "The Role of Audit entities in Auditing in Times of Emergency Crises", and "Performance Audit of Sustainable Development Goals".
