Bahrain, Turkmenistan hold third round of political consultations

Manama, June 14 (BNA): The third round of political consultations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Turkmenistan was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. It was headed by the ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Berdiniyaz Matiyev.


During the meeting, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs praised close and growing friendly relations between the two countries and their progress at various levels thanks to the care and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov.


The two sides reviewed strong relations of cooperation and friendship between the two countries and means to enhance them through the exchange of official visits and the activation of more than 13 signed agreements and memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the political, economic, social, cultural, scientific, technical and sports fields. 


The meeting also spotlighted joint coordination in regional and international forums within the framework of common concern to consolidate the values of tolerance dialogue, promote regional and international security and peace and support sustainable development.


For his part, the Turkmen Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed his country's pride in the distinguished historical relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the common interest in developing them in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples. He wished the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
