Bahrain Permanent Representative attends Oman’s third trade policy review

Geneva, Nov.17 (BNA): Bahrain’s Permanent Representative   to the World Trade Organization, current Chairman of the GCC  Ambassadors Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri, participated in Oman’s third review of the trade policy.


The session was held today at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization today, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman,   Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion,   Dr. Saleh bin Saeed Masan.


Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization,   Ambassador Idris Al-Khanjari, and other international organizations in Geneva also took part. 


The Ambassador delivered a statement on behalf of the GCC, in which he welcomed the delegation of the brotherly Sultanate of Oman, and thanked the WTO Secretariat for its efforts in preparing the detailed report. 


He noted that the report demonstrates the various efforts that the Sultanate of Oman is making, within the framework of the development strategy of Oman’s Vision 2040, to advance the country’s economic development and diversification agenda – including a commitment to increase real GDP per capita by 90% and real GDP growth of 5% per year over the next 20 years. 


The Ambassador concluded his statement by highlighting the Sultanate of Oman's role as a strong and long-term supporter of the World Trade Organization and the multilateral trading system, wishing the Sultanate success in reviewing its trade policy.
