Justice Minister inspects supervisory elections committee in the Capital Governorate and Muharraq

Manama, Sept. 15 (BNA):Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, Elections High Committee Chairman Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda inspected the two committees supervising the integrity of the elections of members of the Council of Representatives in the Capital Governorate and the Governorate of Muharraq.
 
The committees are based in Khawla Girls Secondary School (Capital Governorate) and Al Hedaya Al Khalifiya Boys’ Secondary School (Governorate of Muharraq).
 
The minister was accompanied during the visits by Legislation and Legal Opinion Chairman, Elections Executive Director Nawaf Abdulla Hamza.
 
Four supervisory committees have started receiving the voters who wish to verify the inclusion of their names in the lists displayed on electronic screens and to check the readiness of the committees that started their work as of Thursday, coinciding with the legal period for displaying the voter lists that extends until Wednesday, corresponding to September 21.
 
The minister met with Head of the Capital Governorate Committee Nayef Yousef Mahmoud  and Head of the Muharraq Governorate Committee  Dr. Ali Abbas Al-Shuwaikh and other supporting national cadres working in both panels.
 
He stressed the importance of providing multiple options for voters to verify the inclusion of their names in the lists, citing the website, which operates round the clock, and the call centre, in addition to the supervisory committees.
 
He underlined Bahrain's keenness to employ all possible means to ensure the integrity, ease and smoothness of exercising the constitutional right of citizens to vote and run.
