Interior Minister receives Secretary General of Arab Interior Ministers Council

Manama, Jan. 22 (BNA): Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received General Secretary for the Arab Interior Minister Council, Dr. Mohammad bin Ali Kuman.

Interior Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa attended the meeting.

The minister hailed the role of the council’s General Secretariat to develop joint Arab security work and follow up on the implementation of decisions of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Arab Interior Ministers.

The meeting reviewed topics to be discussed in the upcoming session of the council and topics related to reinforcing Arab security cooperation.

Dr. Kuman appreciated the minister's views on developing Arab security cooperation and coordination.

Shaikh Rashid and Dr. Kuman honored Bahrain’s winners of the Prince Nayef Award for Arab Security. In 2016, Rami Waheed Mansoor won the first place for his study on terrorism. He also topped the winners in the 2017 award for his study on cybercrimes. Dr Ahmed Mubatak Salem won the third place in 2019 for his study on illegal migration. In the creativity category, Fatima Ali Nass won second position in 2018 for her study on narcotic awareness. In pioneering security program, Maan (Together) program against violence and addiction won the second place in 2019.
