Manama, June 12 (BNA): The two-day "100 Years of Formal Education Forum", held at the ART Rotana Hotel in Amwaj Islands, under the patronage of Education Minister, Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi, concluded today.
Organised by the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the forum attracted ministers, senior officials, experts, academicians and administrators from Bahrain and abroad, in addition to representatives of the labour market’s institutions.
The second and final day of the conference featured a workshop presented by renowned international speaker, trainer and world-class writer, Kevin Abdulrahman, on education and empowerment for everyone –particularly women.
It also featured other workshops presented by Salah Abu Idris, on education in the private sector, and Fahmi Baqlawa, on education for students with special needs, as well as their integration within schools.
A career expo on employment opportunities in a number of local companies and institutions, and another for the products, and success stories of 50 Bahraini entrepreneurs were be held on the sidelines of the forum.
Medpoint Design and Events Management Chairwoman and the forum’s organising committee’s chairperson, Shaikha Noora bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, expressed her thanks and appreciation to all parties that contributed to the success of the event.
The first day of the conference featured a number of plenary sessions in which an elite of speakers participated, including the Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Oil, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala bint Mohammed Al-Ansari, in addition to UNICEF officials.
The sessions focused on the history of education in Bahrain, success stories of the educational process in the kingdom and ways to strengthen its relations with the labour market.
