Voluntary Work Award winners honoured

Manama, Sept. 15 (BNA): The winners of the 12th edition of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work have been honoured today.

 

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Kuwait Prime Minister’s Court Advisor Dr. Basel Humood Al Sabah, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Nivine Nivine El Kabbag.

 

The event was also attended by Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayyed, Social Development Minister Osama bin Ahmed Al Asfoor and other officials.

 

Addressing the ceremony, Cabinet Affairs Ministry Undersecretary, Good Word Society Honorary Chairman, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting that the prize reflects royal directives.

 

He praised the national efforts led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to foster the values of voluntary work.

 

He paid homage to late HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, recalling his support to voluntary and humanitarian work as well as his roles and stances in Bahrain, the Arab and Islamic Worlds.

 

Organized by Good Word Society in cooperation with the Arab Voluntary Work Union, this year’s edition honoured Arab frontliners, in recognition of their efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic.

 

HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa also expressed thanks and gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa for attending the final ceremony.

 

He also thanked members of Good Word Society and Arab Voluntary Work Union, hailing their dedicated efforts in serving Arab voluntary and humanitarian work.

 

During the ceremony, eighteen Arab frontliners were honoured, including Dr. Shaikh Basel Humood Al Sabah, Dr. El Kabbag, former Omani Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi in recognition of their role during the pandemic.

 

Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation has also been granted the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work for its role in promoting charitable and voluntary work.

 

During the ceremony, the sponsors of HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work. These include GFH Group, STC Bahrain, GPIC, in addition to Al Bilad and Al Ayyam newspapers.
