Bahrain-Indian longstanding ties hailed

Manama, Aug.24 (BNA): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today started a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.


King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence board of trustees’ chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa hailed the landmark visit, the first ever by an Indian Prime Minister to the Kingdom of Bahrain.


He stressed the importance of the key visit which, he said, reflects deep-rooted historic relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India.


In a statement today, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa stressed the two countries’ firm desire to further bolster longstanding historic relations and expand the cooperation momentum.


“The key visits which crowns Bahraini-Indian relations reflects deep-rooted historic ties and mirrors the Kingdom’s importance in the New Delhi-led policies in West Asia”, he said


He expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty the King hailing royal keenness on promoting freedom of religion, doctrine and faith in Bahraini society, which facilitated the role of the Center in achieving its objectives. He said that  diversity, pluralism and freedom of religion have always represented a source of strength for the kingdom throughout the ages.
