Egypt, India discuss military cooperation

Cairo, Sept. 19 (BNA): Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has lauded the depth of ties binding Egypt and India, asserting Egypt's keenness on promoting cooperation with India in the military and defense fields.


This came during President El Sisi's meeting Monday with Indian Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh.


According to Middle East News Agency (MENA), President El Sisi also expressed Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation with India in the military and defense domains, along with activating partnership between the two countries, the spokesman said.


The Indian minister underlined Egypt's crucial role in fighting terrorism, a matter that reflected in the security and stability in Egypt and the whole region, the spokesman said.


The minister stressed that his country is looking forward to exchanging expertise and consolidating military and security cooperation with Egypt, the spokesman added.


The meeting also took up means of boosting military and security cooperation between the two countries, particularly with regard to cooperation in manufacturing, transferring and localizing technology with the aim of exploiting the capabilities and infrastructure available in the two countries, according to the spokesman.
