GIB digital banking wins eight awards

Manama, Sept. 11 (BNA): Gulf International Bank (GIB) has been honoured with eight awards for its ongoing leadership in digital banking at Global Finance’s ‘Digital Banks and Innovators Awards Dinner 2019’ held at Dubai International Financial Centre.

 

GIB’s Sharia-compliant digital retail bank, meem, scooped six awards and its Global Transaction Banking (GTB) business won two others:

Meem by GIB World’s Best Islamic Digital Banks 2019 – Bahrain Country Winner


World’s Best Consumer Digital Banks Middle East 2019, Bahrain Country Winner for:

Best Consumer Digital Bank, Best in Mobile Banking, Best Mobile Banking App, Best in Social Media Marketing and Services Most Innovative GIB Global Transaction Banking

World’s Best Corporate/Institutional Digital Bank Middle East 2019 for Best Online Cash Management (Bahrain); and, Best Opening Banking API (Bahrain)

 

The awards were accepted on behalf of GIB by its  Group Head of Wholesale Banking, Khaled Abbas, Chief Digital Officer, Andreas Skopal, and GIB’s Head of Global Transaction Banking, Gurumurthy Palani. 


Meem by GIB is the digital retail arm of Gulf International Bank and was the first Sharia-compliant digital retail banking service in the region established in 2015.
