BCCI, Municipalities' Affairs Ministry discuss cooperation

Manama, Sept. 16 (BNA): Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Sameer Abdulla Nass, received Municipalities’ Affairs and Agriculture, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, in the presence of officials from both sides.


The minister lauded BCCI’s initiatives aimed at enhancing its communication with the business community, praising its role in ensuring the success of the private sector as an essential partner in boosting the kingdom’s economy and development process, in line with the principles of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.


The two sides reviewed areas of joint cooperation and the prospects for exchanging expertise, especially in the municipal, agricultural and food security fields.


BCCI chief stressed the importance of continuous cooperation and joint action between the two sides, in line with the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for consolidating the role of the private sector in advancing the national economy.


He highlighted the importance of stepping up collective efforts to keep pace with the current market reality and invest in new opportunities to achieve the highest levels of productivity and strengthen the global competitiveness of Bahraini private sector institutions and individuals in partnership with government entities.


Sameer Nass called for strengthening the role of the private sector to be the main engine of the economy in the Kingdom.


He also called for strengthening the partnership between BCCI and the Municipalities’ Affairs Ministry by forming joint committees to establish new projects and develop existing projects, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation and joint coordination with the Ministry to achieve the desired goals.


He highlighted BCCI’s keenness to advance the development march in a way that serves the kingdom's growth and economic development process, achieves the aspirations of the citizens and opens up more promising opportunities for them.
