Undersecretary for Political Affairs discusses cooperation with Global Center for Pluralism in Canada

Ottawa, Sept. 16 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, commended the pioneering initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

He made the statements during his meeting today with the Secretary-General of the Global Center for Pluralism, Meredith Preston McGhie in Ottawa where he is on an official visit.

He pointed out Bahrain’s aim to enhance cooperation with Canada in spreading a culture of religious tolerance and dialogue, in a manner that supports international partnership towards further security, peace, stability and sustainable development.

He also reviewed the initiatives of HM the King that established the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, launched the "Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain" and contributed to the signing of the Abraham Accords as part of the Kingdom’s keenness to achieve peace and prosperity in the Middle East and the world.

The Secretary-General welcomed the visit of the Bahraini delegation to Canada and noted her admiration of the Kingdom’s humanitarian ideals that establish the principles of peaceful coexistence among all religions and cultures.
