London, May 16 (BNA): Within the framework of strong historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UK, and in line with the directives of National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, Major General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the cavalry of the Bahrain Royal Guard took part, alongside the cavalry of participating countries, in the concluding show of Windsor equestrian festival. The show was held as part of the platinum jubilee celebration in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
This celebration comes on the occasion of the conclusion of the annual equestrian festival in the backyard of the royal Windsor Castle, where the Kingdom of Bahrain contributes annually to sponsoring the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The Bahrain Royal Guard cavalry presented outstanding shows with traditional Bahraini outfits which reflected the inherent Bahraini heritage and identity. This participation was complementary to the participation of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team in the 160 km, 120 km and 100 km races, which are classified internationally within the International Equestrian Federation, and the participation of the Bahrain Defence Force and the Ministry of Interior showjumping teams, which won the appreciation of everyone by clinching the first places in these competitions.
The function was attended by Bahraini Ambassador to the UK, HE Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and a number of officials.
HE Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed strong and ever-growing relations between both countries to achieve common interests. He praised the distinguished shows presented by the Bahrain Royal Guard cavalry which reflects the farsighted vision of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
