Health Ministry stresses commitment to protecting community

Manama, Sept. 16 (BNA): Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, today chaired a meeting devoted to following up on the emergency contingency plan to deal with the Monkeypox.

She stressed the Health Ministry’s commitment to doing its utmost to preserve the health and safety of society, follow up on health developments and take the necessary precautionary measures, in accordance with the health protocols in force locally and internationally.

Commenting on the discovery of the first case in Bahrain, the minister affirmed that epidemiological surveillance is continuing to reduce the chances of the spread of monkeypox in order to preserve public safety.

The meeting reviewed the ongoing preparations and procedures related to examination, isolation, treatment and contact tracing, in addition to the plans and measures implemented with the aim of educating health professionals and the
community, as well as the mechanism for reporting suspected cases at the Public Health Directorate, and efforts to provide vaccinations.
