Jordanian Foreign Minister to start US visit Friday

Amman, Sept. 15 (BNA): Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi will begin a working visit to the United States tomorrow Friday where he will meet with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.

According to a press release published by Jordan News Agency (Petra), Safadi will sign during the visit a new memorandum of understanding on the strategic partnership between the two governments, which will outline the United States' assistance for the kingdom over the next seven years.

Safadi will also discuss during his visit to Washington means to boost strategic relations between Jordan and the US as well as regional issues of common concern, including mainly the efforts to find a political prospect to solve the Palestinian issue and achieve just peace on the basis of the two-state solution. He will also partake in a session hosted by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
