Speaker: Providing decent housing, improving citizens' living standards top national priorities

Manama, June 26 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has asserted that providing decent housing, launching diverse house projects and finding innovative solutions to meet the living needs of the citizens have always been and remain at the forefront of the national efforts of the legislative and executive branches, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

She commended the role played by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in meeting housing demands, providing the best services and implementing housing projects, commensurate with the citizens’ needs.

She praised the Ministry’s unwavering keenness to improve the quality of its services, enhance performance and increase the achievements of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Speaker Fawzia Zainal made the statements while receiving here today Housing and Urban Planning Minister, Amna bint Ahmed Al-Romaihi, whom she congratulated on her appointment to her post. She also wished her every success in carrying out her new duties for the best interests of the nation and the citizens.

The two sides reviewed the current and future housing projects and plans, including the new housing towns.

The minister expressed thanks to Speaker Zainal for the meeting, affirming that the provision of decent housing for the citizens enjoys the constant interest of HM the King and tops the priorities of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

She indicated that the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry will continue providing housing units to the citizens across the kingdom’s various governorates, through housing towns and residential complexes, in addition to the partnership initiatives with the private sector.
